Operation of the European Power and Gas Markets

For the UK gas market operator, APX, we recently prepared and delivered our new enhanced short course on the organisation and structure of European power and gas markets, for staff new to the organisation and to energy markets.

This covered: the organisation and structure of the key European energy markets, price drivers, main market players, the impact of EC and national legislation, the role and function of regulators, regulatory control of markets and network operations, the impact of competition law and merger and acquisition restrictions and key issues for the future.

For a major UK based European trading company IPA developed and delivered a one day short course on the European electricity markets, covering market fundamentals and trends, regulation of the European electricity markets, competition law and a review of key issues for the future.
