Evaluation of Export Potential for Hydrocarbons

IPA Energy + Water Economics undertook a comprehensive economic and geopolitical review of the export of hydrocarbons from the central Asian republic of Turkmenistan. IPA reviewed the proven, potential and possible reserves of oil and gas in Turkmenistan; the extent of the existing infrastructure; demand within Turkmenistan and the existing institutional and legal framework for the oil and gas industries. In addition, the study provided a detailed analysis of the prospects for the establishment of regional and long distance markets ; possible pipeline routes and the international legislative and policy reequirements required to ensure security of supply to potential markets.
