Senior Consultant

Ricardo is a senior member of the International Infrastructure Analysis Team in London. He has over 6 years experience in economics and energy consulting, specialising in financial and business modelling for power, oil and gas projects in the US and Europe. He has an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and a BA degree in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.  Ricardo is fluent in English and Spanish.

Mike Begley 
Managing Consultant

Mike is a chartered accountant with a BSc in Mathematics and an MBA (with merit).  He has over 20 years experience of energy regulation and finance including over 10 years in finance and regulation roles at National Grid (UK transmission company) and 4 years working for Ofgem (GB energy regulator). He has experience in leading on financial and cost issues of price control reviews, regulatory reporting requirements, regulatory accounting, modelling of regulatory options, global insurance covers and risk management processes. Further he has expertise in benchmarking and cost analysis of gas and electricity distribution networks.

Yu-Foong Chong
Consultant

Yu-Foong is an experienced power market consultant, with specialist knowledge in financial analysis, economic modelling and renewable energy markets. Yu-Foong has a First Class honours in Engineering Science from Oxford University and a Masters in Engineering for Sustainable Development from Cambridge University, and is active in academic research.

Graham Jones
Managing Consultant

Graham is a Chartered Engineer with experience in the energy and transport industries, supplemented by expertise in financial and economic modelling and in project management. He is an expert in the planning and operation of gas networks with 14 years experience at British Gas and Transco. Working for Offer and subsequently Ofgem, he gained 8 years regulatory experience, including the Transco gas network price control review and the electricity transmission network price controls.

Ankit Mathur
Consultant

Ankit is a Consultant in the International Infrastructure Analysis Team. He is an experienced power market modeller and has energy transaction experience in a variety of countries in Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. He studied Economics at Warwick University with a focus on Econometrics and Finance at Instituto de Empresa, with a focus on Corporate Finance. Ankit has previously worked in Equity Capital Markets at Arcano Capital, Spain, where he analysed companies on their suitability for IPOs.

Kirstin Morrison
Senior Consultant

Kirstin is a professional economist based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Formerly with the UK Government Economic Service (GES), Kirstin specialises in energy and environmental economics and policy. At the GES, Kirstin developed expertise in energy efficiency, climate change, and quantitative modeling. Within the gas economics team Kirstin applies economic analysis to natural gas transaction, pricing and policy issues.  She has a MA in Economics from Glasgow University and an MSc in Economics from University College London.

Alvin Tien
Research Analyst

Alvin is a research analyst in the International Infrastructure Analysis Team with experience in economic modelling, financial analysis and forecasting. He has an MSc Economics and Finance from Durham University focusing on International Macroeconomics, and a Bachelor of Economics and Finance from the University of Hong Kong.  Alvin speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Nikhil Venkateswaran
Managing Consultant

Nikhil has Masters and first class Batchelors Degrees in Chemical Engineering from Cambridge University and nearly fifteen years’ experience and knowledge of the UK electricity industry gained with National Power, Innogy and RWE npower as well as IPA.  He has expertise in complex power market modelling and niche experience in technical and commercial analysis of post-combustion pollution control technologies (FGD and SCR). corporate and project-level finance, including portfolio analysis of international power generation projects risk/reward balance. valuation of structured energy (oil, gas, electricity) products; development of a long-term generation asset strategy, and long-term commodity price forecasting.
